What is Going On Behind the Walls?
Students concoct theories as to what is really going on during the PWHS renovations.

Rumors of monster trucks driving around in the new cafeteria have been circulating around school. This may sound like an outrageous theory, but have you taken the time to pay attention to what’s actually going on behind those mysterious wooden walls? Although we may not get the chance to see what’s really going on inside before this project is complete, here is closer insight from students who claim to have heard some unusual noises coming from the construction site.
Every student at PW has been slightly affected by the changes going on in our school, but if walking through cramped hallways is your biggest complaint, then consider yourself lucky. Deafening sounds have been rattling the surrounding hallways and classrooms of the new cafeteria, constantly startling and distracting students around school. These sounds have been reported near the science wing and in the art hallway, but ironically, it sounds as though the library has been impacted the most by the ruckus. One student who takes classes in the library quoted, “A truck could literally drive right through the wall of the school and nobody would notice a difference.” So much for keeping quiet in the library.
The science wing has been getting its fair share of noise too. The constant rumbling has kept the chemistry department on their toes. Surprisingly, no beakers have yet been broken, but once again, the noise has been a major inconvenience to the students in the science wing. Student Sam Cohen, currently taking chemistry, said that, “Trucks outside of the school make it impossible to hear. Every once in awhile, our teacher has to pause and wait until the truck goes by before she can continue.”
These obnoxious sounds have been disruptive to many of the students here at PW, but what’s really going on? Are there actually monster trucks driving around in the middle of our school? Adam Ring, a PW sophomore and first hand witness to the mysterious noises, agrees with the monster truck theory. “It seems to be the most logical explanation that I’ve heard,” says Adam. “I don’t see what else it could possibly be!” Pay close attention next time you walk past the construction area. You may be surprised what you hear…
